Zhejiang Central's first bonded cold chain intelligent warehouse launches in Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Robotech delivers a solid performance

In June 2017, the Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone officially started closed management operations. Nine years later, it has become the core platform for opening up to the outside world in central Zhejiang, gathering about 200 enterprises, with a total import and export volume reaching 15.008 billion yuan in 2025.
With the rapid expansion of park operations, the existing warehousing facilities are already insufficient in terms of capacity and informatization to support the next phase of development. The bonded zone requires a modern intelligent cold storage with high-density storage, full-process informatization, and automated operations.
In January 2025, Robotech won the bid for the procurement of automated logistics equipment and system integration for the L plot stereoscopic warehouse in the Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone, marking the implementation of the large-scale intelligent cold storage in Jinyi CBZ.

Project Overview: Core Project of Phase II of Jinyi CBZ
The project covers approximately 61 acres and consists of the L1 automated stereoscopic cold storage and the L2 flat warehouse. Among them, the automated cold storage has a storage capacity of 270,000 cubic meters, a layer height of about 19 meters, and Robotech provides full-chain one-stop integrated services from planning and design, equipment manufacturing to installation, commissioning, training, and after-sales support.
Strong Core Capabilities, Backed by Data
Core Configuration: 16,744 standard storage locations, 52 rows × 23 columns × 7 layers of double-deep racks, height 16.345 meters; equipped with 14 low-temperature stacker cranes, 8 sets of RGV shuttles, and 8 reciprocating elevators for the flat warehouse area.

Equipment Performance: Stacker crane horizontal travel speed is 160 m/min, vertical lifting speed 40 m/min, three-way positioning accuracy within ±3mm, pick-and-place cycle time 15 seconds for single depth, 18 seconds for double depth, maximum load 1000 kg/pallet, all using first-class energy efficiency motors; the system’s composite cycle capacity is 672 pallets/hour, single cycle 588 pallets/hour, supporting 35% split pallet operations.

Software System: WMS warehouse management system collaborates with WCS warehouse control system, supporting batch management, quality status management, sampling management, and photo inventory; inbound strategies support aisle balancing and nearest storage; outbound strategies support FIFO and FEFO; paired with PDA handheld terminals for paperless operations, equipped with a visual dashboard system.
One-Stop Functionality: Integrates shape inspection, precise weighing, barcode recognition (recognition rate ≥99.9%), automatic film wrapping, and shaping. The -25℃ low-temperature design is optimized by Robotech in terms of materials, electrical systems, and operational procedures for ultra-low temperature environments.

-25℃ Low-Temperature Specialized Design
The core structure uses Q345E low-temperature steel to ensure safety under sub-zero loads; sensors and laser rangefinders are low-temperature models; motors and bearings use special low-temperature lubricants and are equipped with heating devices to prevent condensation; the operator insulation area and control cabinet have heating systems to ensure comfort for personnel and stable operation of equipment. The entire design is tailored for cold chain scenarios.
Full Traceability
Full traceability relies on the integration of WMS and WCS systems, achieving full traceability of cargo batches, owners, and quality status, and meets customs inspection requirements.
Unmanned Operation in Cold Storage
In cold storage, stackers operate automatically to store and retrieve items, so workers don't need to enter the -25℃ environment. All manual operations (palletizing, scanning, breaking down items) are done in the workshop, ensuring both efficiency and personnel safety.

As a key infrastructure project in the second phase of the bonded zone, this project will strongly support regional import and export trade as well as cold chain logistics. The implementation of this smart cold storage also provides a reference model for bonded cold chain operations—-25℃ low-temperature adaptation, full traceability, and high-density storage.
